Thankful for YOU

It was a little nippy this morning, even in Hawaii!  Out in the garden this morning, it felt like Thanksgiving time.

Indeed, I am thankful for many things, especially for You and your interest in and support of new and better methods of food production.

Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!   Dr. Jana

Nutrition Grown Biophoton Salad –SO Amazing For Your Health

Here’s a Nutrition Grown salad from the garden of Perfect Soil course student, Jennifer Wilson. Jenny wrote, “I am so excited about the nutritionally grown salads I have been able to make from my garden. They are beautiful and I feel energized after eating them.”

Groundbreaking Study:

Beyond the many nutrients raw greens supply to our bodies, a groundbreaking study in the Journal of Cell Science shows that the chlorophyll in greens can be used by mammalian cells to capture light energy from the sun.  In the past, it was thought that this was something only plants could do through the process of photosynthesis.

This article, Light-harvesting chlorophyll pigments enable mammalian mitochondria to capture photonic energy and produce ATP, comes from researchers at the Columbia University Medical Center.  Numerous experiments have been performed showing that chlorophyll metabolites “retain the ability to absorb light in the visible spectrum at wavelengths that can penetrate into animal tissues”.  Mammalian mitochondria utilize this light energy to create ATP (adenosine triphosphate). The researchers have also observed an increase in the lifespan of animals who are generating ATP in this way.

Is it any wonder that we enjoy sunning ourselves?  Have you ever seen animals laying stretched out in the sun and wondered why they were doing that, even when it seemed too hot?  Maybe we are now catching up with the “why”.

Think about a dog or a cat eating grass, especially when they don’t feel well.  They instinctively know the fresh greens can help them.

Biophotons:

Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp, a German biophysics researcher, has been studying biophotons for decades.  Biophotons are light energy emitted from living things.  Dr. Popp’s research has shown that light is emitted from human cells and that this light is used for communication.  Light energy communication is many times faster than chemical reactions, which have been central to the theory of biochemical cellular communications.  It has also been seen that light energy (photons) are necessary to initiate chemical reactions.

“There are about 100,000 chemical reactions happening in every cell each second. The chemical reaction can only happen if the molecule which is reacting is excited by a photon… Once the photon has excited a reaction it returns to the field and is available for more reactions… We are swimming in an ocean of light.”

Raw Foods:

Raw food diets can be powerfully healing.  Why?  Besides many nutrients and phytonutrients, plants also contain biophotons.  Studies show that when a plant or animal dies, light energy is released.  As opposed to cooked foods, eating well grown raw foods, with their undamaged molecules and coherent light energy, can be especially healing.

Dr. Popp came to understand that DNA was the major source of light and biophoton emissions within our cells.  Furthermore, he found that DNA can send out many different frequencies which are instructions for our cells to follow.  This is how our bodies heal.

And Beyond:

The photon emissions go beyond our bodies to influence other beings.  For examples, communications within flocks of birds, schools of fish, and herds of horses may be explained by photon emissions.  As humans, perhaps our resonance, or lack thereof, with each other can also be explained by the coherency of our photon emissions.

So grow your Nutrition Grown™ garden, eat your absolutely fresh greens, and let your Light SHINE.

Happy New Year and a White Christmas video from Hawaii!

Last blog, just before Christmas, I had a snapshot of snow-capped Mauna Kea, in the northern part of the Big Island.  For Christmas, I went down to my new land at South Point, and it was a glorious, clear day with a full view of snow-capped Mauna Loa!  If you recall from last post, Mauna Loa, which means “long mountain”, is the largest cubic volume mountain in the world.  It is nearly 14,000 feet high, and still considered an active volcano.  Fortunately, my land is in Lava Zone 6, where it is highly unlikely to be affected by a lava flow.

I hope you have some amazing plans for 2018.  I’m planning to build on my land, and then have a Nutrition Grown(TM) orchard and garden, of course. Plus some horses!

Blessings for an awesome, dream-fulfilling year!  Dr. Jana

Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas) a Hauoli Makahiki Hou! (& Happy New Year!)

Aloha All,  Another year has zipped by!  I hope it has been a great year for you and your garden or farm.  For me, a big thing was getting my Beyond Organic book published in printed form.  It has been well received and is being sold in over 20 locations around the Big Island.  There are more exciting happenings in the Beyond Organic world that are in the works!  I will roll them out as they come to fruition over this coming year.  Hint: One is an online teaching and support program to help everyone achieve the goal of growing the most delicious and healing food ever.  If you aren’t already a subscriber to this blog, just sign up in the box on the right to stay in the loop with the latest happenings.

About the gorgeous photo:  This glass house scene was borrowed from the Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh.  The conservatory was built by Henry Phipps in 1893 as a gift to Pittsburgh.  A great gift that keeps on giving!  We are fortunate in Hawaii because Poinsettias love to grow outdoors here, sometimes creating tall “hedges” of brilliant red around Christmas time.

I hope you have a wonderful, colorful Holiday Season and all your Dreams come True in the New Year!    Jana

“Wheel of Fortune” Rolls Across “Beyond Organic Grass”

Wheel of Fortune ticket 9-2014Wheel of Fortune came to Hawaii this past week.  The Hilton wanted the grounds for the set to look great and called on a turf grower I work with to get some grass.  No pictures were allowed to be taken of the set, but here’s a copy of my ticket I used to see the show (and the grass).  It was fun to see Vanna White and Pat Sajak in person.  The set was impressive and crew member said the grass looked beautiful.  The show that got taped that night will air in February.  The cameras were flying around capturing shots of the audience as well as the main show.  I don’t know if I’ll make it on the final video, but it was certainly fun to be a part of it!

Dr. Don Huber Shares Critical Information on GMOs and Glyphosate (RoundUp®)

Dr. Don Huber, professor emeritus from Purdue, has spent many years teaching students how to grow better crops. Currently, he is focusing on disseminating information on the dangers of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and the herbicide glyphosate (commonly available as RoundUp®). Most grocery store items contain one or both. Major GMO crops are engineered to withstand heavy use of glyphosate, hence the term “RoundUp® Ready”. So the cultivation of GMO crops results in the use of more chemicals, not less. These GMO crops have significantly less nutrition than non-GMO crops because glyphosate ties up soil nutrients and kills beneficial microorganisms which make nutrients available to plants.

At a recent meeting in Kailua-Kona, here on the Big Island of Hawai`i, Dr. Huber shared a Power Point presentation with many shocking slides. Thousands of studies show the dangerous health effects of the use of GMOs and glyphosate (RoundUp®). Their use has been positively correlated to the sudden rise in various diseases such as diabetes, autism, celiac disease, Alzheimer’s, kidney disease, acute allergies, and liver disease, as well as reproductive failures, miscarriages and birth defects (see charts below).

Mele Kalikimaka a Hauoli Makahiki Hou! (“Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!” in Hawaiian)

I hope everyone had a great year and are looking forward to more awesomeness (including growing the best food ever) in 2014! It was a great year for Beyond Organic Consulting. Winning 2nd place out of 47,000 entrants in the Transformation Contest was such an honor. Getting the new book, Beyond Organic…Growing for Maximum Nutrition, out on Amazon was also fantastic. According to the publisher, the print version should be available soon–stay tuned.

Take good care of yourself and your soil (which will in turn take care of you), and have the best year ever!
